Aquaculture Innovation Officer
Bridie completed both her BSc (Honours) in Aquaculture and her PhD in Aquaculture genetics and reproduction at the University of Stirling, Institute of Aquaculture, with her main research focused on the development of broodstock management and husbandry tools for improved hatchery performance of ballan wrasse – a cleaner fish species used for lice removal on farmed Atlantic salmon. She has a wide range of experiences working at various sites and research institutions throughout the UK and USA; including Ardtoe Marine Laboratory, Howietoun Fishery, Machrihanish Environmental Research Laboratory, University of Maine: Center for Cooperative Aquaculture Research, New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. She has a strong background in genetics and marine larviculture as well as commercial experience in cleaner fish production with Mowi.
