Professor Julie Fitzpatrick

Julie is the Scientific Director of the Moredun Research Institute and Chief Executive of the Moredun Group. She also holds a Chair in Food Security in the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences at the University of Glasgow. Professor Fitzpatrick’s research interests focus on livestock health and disease in the UK and in developing countries. Her particular focus is on endemic infectious diseases of ruminants, especially mastitis. She plays an active role in commercialising research outputs, including vaccines and diagnostic tests arising from Moredun, with the novel anti- nematode worm vaccine “Barbervax”, currently on sale in Australia, a recent example.
