Aquaculture Innovation Officer
Rebecca has a PhD in marine physics and technology from the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS), an MRes in Ecosystem-based management of marine systems, and a BSc (Hons) in Marine Biology, both from the University of St Andrews. She has a wide range of experience working in different marine-related fields and locations, including the UK, Indonesia and Australia, as well as with both academic and commercial groups. She moved into an environmental consultancy role at SAMS in 2017 and has a key interest in the commercial sector. Having previously project managed the waste deposition modelling software ‘NewDEPOMOD’, she has an established working relationship within the Scottish aquaculture industry.
As Aquaculture Innovation Officer, Rebecca’s role is to enable collaboration between the aquaculture industry and aquaculture research, supporting business engagement, and liaising with academics, public funding bodies and the aquaculture industry to engage all parties in collaborative research projects.
