SAIC at Aqua Nor 2025
Supporting innovation and collaboration on the global stage
SAIC was proud to play a central role in the Scottish Pavilion at Aqua Nor 2025, held in Trondheim from 19-21 August.
Following a successful debut in 2023, the Scottish Pavilion returned to Aqua Nor, delivered by a partnership of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), SAIC, Scottish Government’s Marine Directorate, and Scottish Development International.
Joining the Pavilion were exhibitors from Scotland’s aquaculture supply chain and research institutions – Aberdeen Web and Load Monitoring Systems from Pewag, ACE Aquatec, AlgiSys, Aquafarm Equipment Scotland, Brimmond, GenusWave, Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling, Moredun Scientific, MoROV Ltd, Ocean Kinetics, Pulcea, SAMS Enterprise, Roslin Institute and the UK Agritech Centre.
Engagement and leadership
SAIC’s Sarah Riddle and Lynsey Muir attended Aqua Nor to supporting the day-to-day running of the Pavilion including a joint exhibition space with HIE. Sarah also chaired a panel session ‘Disrupting innovation – what’s next for aquaculture?' and participated in another session on innovation clusters.
An Aqua Nor highlight for SAIC was our development of, and participation, in a bilateral meeting with a New Zealand delegation focused on strengthening international collaboration in aquaculture. This meeting was by Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary Mairi Gougeon and New Zealand’s Ambassador to the Nordics, David Taylor, and included representatives from SAIC, HIE and Invest New Zealand.
Looking ahead
SAIC’s presence at Aqua Nor 2025 reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the aquaculture sector - not only through our own events and initiatives, but by contributing to wider industry efforts to drive innovation and sustainable growth across the aquaculture sector.
