SAIC Introduces: Capital Project Managers Ltd

Capital Project Managers – a Scottish engineering and development consultancy focused on the water and aquaculture sectors.

Capital Project Managers Ltd (CPM) is a project development, management and engineering consultancy working across the aquaculture and water sectors. The company provides technical and project delivery support to aquaculture producers, technology developers, and investors involved in the development and operation of aquaculture facilities. We offer a comprehensive range of services from project development and management support, through to engineering design and installation.

CPM specialises in managing the development of new aquaculture projects and the provision of engineering support to existing production sites. The company has a particular interest in land-based facilities and emerging technologies, including recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and associated water treatment and process infrastructure.

In the early stages of a project, CPM supports clients with site identification, feasibility assessments, consenting, infrastructure planning, and the evaluation of production technologies. This work is intended to help project developers understand the technical, regulatory, and logistical considerations associated with new aquaculture developments and to establish a structured basis for further design and investment.

As projects progress, CPM provides engineering management and project development support, coordinating inputs from specialist consultants, technology suppliers, and contractors. In addition to project development activities, CPM can undertake engineering and process support work for operational aquaculture facilities. This includes treatment plant upgrades, MEICA design, process recommendations, equipment selection, and installation services.

The company’s experience in the water and wastewater sectors also informs its work within aquaculture, particularly in areas such as effluent treatment, process control, filtration, and disinfection.

One of our directors, Joshua, has been involved in SAIC projects previously involving the design and implementation of water treatment technologies so it is great to now be in a position to offer similar services to the sector through CPM. We have experience in leading the development of modular treatment plants from initial proof of concept through to commercial scale as well as navigating the regulatory system required to enable their use.

Through participation in the consortium, we hope to improve our visibility within the industry and contribute to the continued development of sustainable aquaculture systems.
