SAIC Introduces: WAR Environmental Ltd

Supporting Water Quality & Biological Stability in Scottish Salmon Production

WAR Environmental Ltd is a UK-based environmental consultancy and business development company specialising in sustainable water quality management solutions. Drawing on more than 30 years of international experience across water treatment, environmental technologies and commercial project development, WAR Environmental works with innovative technology providers to bring proven solutions to new markets and applications.

Through its partnership with Marine Easy Clean Pty Ltd, Australia, WAR Environmental is the UK distribution and business development partner for The Water Cleanser (TWC) technology, supporting its introduction and deployment across the aquaculture, water treatment and environmental sectors.

The Water Cleanser provides a long-duration treatment platform with a typical operational life of 3–6 months, depending on organic loading and system conditions. The technology operates through passive bio-stimulation, supporting naturally occurring microbial communities involved in nutrient cycling, water quality management and biological stability.

Developed and manufactured in Australia, TWC has been deployed internationally across aquaculture and water treatment applications for many years.

Marine Easy Clean has deployed TWC internationally for many years across aquaculture and water treatment applications, supported by peer-reviewed scientific research and commercial operational experience. The technology has been evaluated across a range of aquaculture environments, demonstrating consistent water quality and system management outcomes.

Consistent outcomes observed across research studies and commercial deployments include:

  • Reduced ammonium and nitrite accumulation
  • Improved water quality stability
  • Improved water clarity
  • Reduced organic loading and waste accumulation
  • Enhanced nutrient cycling and biological balance
  • Improved overall system resilience

Commercial aquaculture trials have also reported improved operational performance in treated systems, supported by more stable water quality conditions and reduced fluctuations in key environmental parameters.

Controlled aquaculture studies have further demonstrated reductions in ammonia and nitrate concentrations while supporting improved microbial balance within production systems.

The technology represents an environmentally responsible approach that works with natural biological processes to support healthier and more stable aquatic environments. By promoting beneficial microbial activity, TWC assists aquaculture operators in maintaining water quality and biological stability without reliance on routine chemical intervention.

As the Scottish salmon sector continues to focus on environmental stewardship, sustainable production practices and operational resilience, Marine Easy Clean and TWC offer a practical, science-supported approach to water quality management that complements existing farm management strategies.

We would welcome the opportunity to discuss the technology and its potential application within your operations.
