SAIC Expression of Interest call
In advance of a full funding call targeted for autumn 2026, SAIC has launched an Expression of Interest (EOI) call for collaborative research, development and innovation projects that address priority challenges and opportunities within Scottish aquaculture.
The call opened on 22 May 2026 and closes at 23:59 on 26 June 2026.
This call is designed to build a pipeline of proposals ahead of the full application stage. The opportunity is open to industry and academic partners working to support the sustainable growth, productivity, resilience and international competitiveness of the sector.
For the first time, both higher education institutions (HEIs) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are eligible for funding.
Proposals must align with SAIC’s strategic priorities which include finfish, shellfish, seaweed and other species, fish health and welfare, environmental sustainability, sector and production capacity, climate resilience, and the transition to net‑zero.
This EOI stage is intended to confirm eligibility, collaboration and project fit, and will help identify proposals to be invited to submit a full application. Submission of an EOI does not guarantee funding.
